FAQ

What is yoga?

Yoga is a holistic practice that encompasses physical postures, breath control, meditation, and ethical principles aimed at promoting overall well-being and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit. It originated in ancient India and has evolved into various styles and approaches. Yoga is often used for physical fitness, stress reduction, relaxation, and spiritual growth. It emphasizes the connection between breath and movement, encouraging mindfulness and self-awareness. Yoga can be adapted to suit individuals of all ages and fitness levels, making it a versatile practice that can be integrated into daily life to enhance physical and mental health.

Can I book online for my friends?

Yes. When using the online booking system you can secure a spot for yourself and up to 3 friends per class. However, keep in mind that if you already have a Plan assigned to your account, then you’ll automatically pay for all the spots with your credits.

How do the plans work?

A single class costs $20, but you can save up to 25% by purchasing 10, 15 or 20 classes in a Plan. Class credits will be added to your account and deducted each time you make a booking. Plans last for 12 months, and you can cancel or reschedule bookings for free 2 hours before the class starts. Credits are valid for all classes. You can also share Plans among friends.

Are the classes suited for beginners? What if I'm unfit or not flexible?

Absolutely! The classes can be challenging, however, you’re encouraged and supported to practice at your own rythm and to continually improve upon yourself.

My classes are designed to create a safe and nurturing space where everyone can explore the transformative power of yoga. And no need to be flexible to succeed at practicing Yoga!

Please let me know ahead of the class if you have or are recovering from a physical or mental injury or illness.

What payments methods do you accept?

Cash, Mastercard, VISA, AMEX, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Online payments are securely processed through Square Payments, and you can tap your card or phone at class using the Square Reader.

What type of Yoga are you teaching?

Hatha Yoga: Hatha yoga is a traditional and foundational style of yoga that focuses on the physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama) to promote physical and mental balance. The word "hatha" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "ha," which means sun, and "tha," which means moon. Hatha yoga aims to bring balance and harmony between the opposing forces of the sun (representing energy and activity) and the moon (representing stillness and receptivity) within the individual.

Vinyasa Yoga: Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic and popular style of yoga that emphasizes the coordination of breath with movement. In Sanskrit, "vinyasa" means "to place in a special way," and in the context of yoga, it refers to the intentional linking of breath to a series of flowing yoga postures or asanas. Vinyasa yoga is often described as a flowing, rhythmic, and creative practice that offers a continuous and smooth transition between poses.

Power Yoga: Power yoga is a dynamic and modern style of yoga that blends traditional yoga postures (asanas) with elements of strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and intense physical movement. This style of yoga is often characterized by its energetic and challenging nature, making it a popular choice for those seeking a vigorous and fitness-focused yoga practice.

Restorative Yoga: Restorative yoga is a gentle and therapeutic style of yoga that focuses on relaxation, deep rest, and rejuvenation. Unlike more physically active forms of yoga, restorative yoga is designed to help practitioners unwind, release tension, and promote profound relaxation by using props and holding poses for an extended period of time. It is often referred to as "active relaxation" because it requires conscious relaxation efforts.

Should I book online or can I just turn up?

Booking online is the easiest way to secure your spot. Classes are capped to maintain a safe space and ensure that everyone gets the best training session possible. The online booking system also makes it simple to pay, track, and cancel or reschedule your bookings. However, if you do decide to just turn up, and there is enough room, you'll always be welcome to join in.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my booking?

Please cancel or reschedule your booking if you can't attend a class. This benefits everyone. It frees up spots for those on the waiting list and helps me plan the best training session possible. As long as you cancel or reschedule no later than 2 hours before the class starting then there's no penalty. Go to My Bookings in your account to make changes.

What should I bring to class?

You'll need comfortable active-style attire, and towel, plenty of water. If you have a yoga mat, feel free to bring it, however we have some you can borrow for class.

What is the minimum age?

Usually, the minimum age is 16 years old. However, younger participants may be accepted on a case by case basis depending on their aptitude, fitness level and prior experience.
